Football Tips: 25/1 Accumulator Tip for the Carabao Cup 23/09/2025

The midweek domestic action sees the return of the Carabao Cup to our screens, with every match available on the SkySports platform, either live on their main channels or via the SkySports Plus option.

In the previous round, we saw one of the biggest domestic cup upsets of all time, as Grimsby Town knocked out global giants Manchester United on penalties, after taking a two-goal lead against the Red Devils.

This round sees the sides that competed in Europe enter the third round of this competition, as the likes of Newcastle United begin their trophy defence against 2013 finalists Bradford City.

Ahead of the midweek Carabao Cup action, we have selected a small value 25/1 accumulator tip, which you can browse down below!

Wolves vs Everton

One of the standout ties in the third round of the Carabao Cup takes us to Molineux, as Wolves will be looking to use this competition as a beacon of light away from their wretched league form. The home side take on an Everton side who have started the season well, despite their recent loss against Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby.

For the hosts, their start to the league campaign has been widely expected, as Wolves have been tipped to be one of the fellow strugglers this season. The lack of adequate signings to replace players such as Matheus Cunha, along with defensive woes that have seen the side concede 12 goals this season, has led Wolves to be at the bottom of the Premier League after five matches.

As for Everton, the Toffees have made a solid start to their league campaign, with two wins, a single draw and two losses. However, there seems to be an air of positivity and optimism surrounding the Merseyside club as new additions such as Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have settled in well, with the former picking up the Player of the Month award for August.

For this game, we are predicting a victory for the Toffees. Wolves' only victory this season came in this competition, with the win in the previous round, but the home side have lost their last three matches since then. Everton have won three of their previous five in all competitions and remain unbeaten in the last three meetings between the two sides.

Tip: Everton to win

Wigan Athletic vs Wycombe Wanderers

Wigan Athletic will be looking to bounce back from the weekend's result against Bolton Wanderers when they take on fellow League One side Wycombe Wanderers in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The Latics were comfortably beaten by their bitter rivals at the weekend, which now leaves the home side in 12th place with 12 points in League One, although they are only four points adrift of Barnsley, who occupy that final playoff spot.

As for Wycombe, their first game under Michael Duff saw arguably their best performance this season, as the Chairboys recorded a 2-0 win against Northampton Town, producing 14 shots and restricting Northampton Town to zero big chances created.

The two sides are separated by four points in the league, but Wigan Athletic could be reeling from their damaging 4-1 defeat against local rivals Bolton Wanderers. Wycombe Wanderers have won two of their last three league matches and are unbeaten in the last three meetings between the two sides.

Tip: Wycombe Wanderers to win

Wrexham vs Reading

Wrexham last appeared in the third round of the EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) back in 1982; however, their last win in this round was actually back in 1972.

However, the Welsh side are favourites heading into this fixture against League One side Reading. Wrexham picked up only one point from their opening three matches, but a couple of decent results against Norwich City (2-3) in particular have given Phil Parkinson new optimism for the season ahead.

For this game, we predicting Wrexham to win but with both teams scoring. Both teams have scored in seven of the last eight games involving Wrexham. Both teams have scored in eight of the last nine games involving Reading. Wrexham have been solid in recent games, with three wins from their last five matches, as they face a Reading side who are without a clean sheet in three games

Tip: Wrexham to win & BTTS

Liverpool vs Southampton

The final leg of this accumulator tip takes us to Anfield, where current Premier League Champions Liverpool take on former Premier League outfit Southampton.

Arne Slot has confirmed in various interviews leading up to this game that he is set to rest various players for this fixture, as his side has a difficult trip to Crystal Palace this weekend. Liverpool's star players, such as Alisson and Virgil van Dijk, were representatives at the Ballon d'Or ceremony last night in Paris, on a night where Mohamed Salah finished fourth in the male rankings.

The Reds will be hoping to go one better in this year's Carabao Cup after finishing runners-up to Newcastle United, a game in which current Liverpool man Alexander Isak scored the decisive goal to end the Magpies' 70-year 70-year-long wait for a domestic trophy.

Liverpool face a visit from a Southampton side who are yet to find their standing under Will Still. The Saints have made an auspicious start to the season, with only one win from their opening six league matches, three draws and two losses.

The two sides met three times last season when the Saints were in the Premier League, with the Reds recording three wins against the visitors. The two sides also met in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup last season, as goals from Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott secured the victory.

For this game, Liverpool will likely field a rotated side against the Saints, but the Reds have been in great form, with six straight wins in all competitions. Southampton are coming into this game with no wins in their last three matches.

Tip: Liverpool to win
