Jurgen Klopp confirmed earlier this month that midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is closing in on a return to the first team, saying they are planning on having him back in full training by February.
Chamberlain has been missing since April after suffering a cruciate ligament injury during Liverpool’s 5-2 win over Roma in the semi-finals of the Champions League, resulting in him missing both the final against Real Madrid and the World Cup.
The 25-year-old was in some of the best form of his career prior to picking up an injury and will provide a welcome boost to Klopp for the remainder of the run-in.
Liverpool are currently away in Dubai on warm weather training, with the team not in action this weekend following their 2-1 defeat to Wolves in the FA Cup, as the fourth round fixtures take place.
Chamberlain has flown out with the rest of the squad as he continues his individual recovery from injury, but a recent clip has shown that he shouldn’t be too far away from joining back in with full training.
The England international is back doing ball work once again, just weeks after going back to doing outdoor training. Watch below as Chamberlain shows off his recovery step-up with a training video from Dubai.
