There are few more interesting characters and stories in football than Jamie Vardy, who was again up to tricks during Leicester City training this morning.
This is a player who admits to having a can of Red Bull from the moment he wakes up on a matchday, followed by a further two cans, a cheese and ham omelette and a double Nespresso to get the juices flowing.
Morale is pretty low at the King Power Stadium at this moment in time, with the team having now lost three of their last four games in all competitions, including a 2-1 upset against Newport County in the FA Cup.
That was then followed by a 2-1 home defeat to Southampton by Claude Puel’s former side Southampton at the King Power Stadium, increasing the pressure on the Frenchman who is now odds-on to be the next Premier League manager to leave their club.
Still, Vardy was keen to lift spirits in and around the club on Thursday morning as he showed up to training dressed in a full Spider-Man costume, complete with a pair of boots, as the rest of the team wore their normal training gear.
