Manchester City picked up a huge victory in the Premier League on Thursday night, beating Liverpool 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
The reigning Premier League champions have now since closed the gap between themselves and Jurgen Klopp’s team to just four points, avoiding a defeat that would’ve seen them fall 10 points adrift.
Defender Benjamin Mendy is one of the more charismatic players in the Premier League, but was missing for the victory through injury, meaning he was more active on social media throughout the game on the pitch.
However, he did eventually make his way onto the pitch, albeit at full-time to celebrate with his teammates after the referee blew his whistle.
Despite being one of the more recognisable faces in the City dressing room, some City stewards weren’t quite aware of who it was making their way onto the pitch - instead choosing to chase him!
By the time they caught up with him, they soon realised who it was they were chasing, instead choosing to style it out anyway. Watch below to see the moment the stewards dealt with a case of mistaken identity.
