QPR vs. Watford Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our QPR vs. Watford prediction, we're going for a 1-0 win for the away side.

Queens Park Rangers are looking to put some daylight between themselves and the Championship relegation zone as they face Watford this weekend.

QPR currently sit 20th in the Championship with ten wins, nine draws and sixteen losses from thirty-five games this season.

QPR's collapse has been one of the most astounding in European football this season. The Hoops were looking like an automatic promotion contender in the early weeks of the season under Michael Beale before a dip in form that seemingly led to him departing for Glasgow Rangers.

Two managers later QPR find themselves deep in the relegation battle amidst a dismal run of form having lost each of their last five consecutive matches, the most recent of which was a 3-1 defeat at Rotherham United.

The defeat at Rotherham was a damning one given they're a fellow struggler and will have set alarm bells off at Loftus Road.

QPR are now only seven points clear of the relegation zone having failed to win any of their last thirteen matches in the Championship and need to be very, very careful., They still have a thick cushion between themselves and the bottom three but things are going to get tight. It's tough to see them winning anywhere at at all at the minute and that included this weekend.

Watford currently sit 10th in the Championship with thirteen wins, twelve draws and ten losses from thirty-five games this season.

Similar to their opponents, The Hornets suffered a sharp collapse this season after starting the season excellently and now face a huge battle to finish in the top six.

It would be remarkable if they failed to do so given the talent at their disposal, but them finishing outside of the play-offs is a very real possibility given their form as they enter this game having won only one of their last five matches (W1 D3 L1).

Their away record is poor too, having drawn two and lost three of their last five games on the road.

It was confirmed yesterday that manager Slavan Bilic would leave his post to be replaced by former Sheffield United and Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder for the remainder of the season. How this appointment will work out is anyone's guess, but it's seemingly going to take a huge commitment to turn this Watford side around as they're now on their third manager of the season. They face one of the kinder matches in the Championship calendar here, though, and should back themselves for three points.
