Stoke vs. Blackburn Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Stoke vs. Blackburn prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

Blackburn Rovers continue their play-off push in the Championship this weekend as they face Stoke City on Friday night.

Stoke City currently sit 16th in the Championship with twelve wins, seven draws and sixteen losses from thirty-five games this season.

The Potters have had a poor season by most accounts having spent the majority of the campaign fighting to avoid being dragged into the relegation battle, but having shown some positive signs in recent weeks their fans can enter the summer with some optimism surrounding next season.

They enter this game amidst a mixed run of form having won two and lost three of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a thumping 5-1 win away at play-off chasing Sunderland.

That game marked Stoke's best performance of the season and it will be hoped that it marks the beginning of their transformation into a team capable of doing something memorable in this division.

Their home record has been solid enough of late having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches on home soil.

This will be a tough and competitive matchup for Stoke but they'll very much have the win in their sails after last weekend's result and they'll fancy themselves to get a result here.

Blackburn Rovers currently sit 4th in the Championship with eighteen wins, four draws and thirteen losses from thirty-five games this season.

Rovers are having a genuinely excellent campaign under manager Jon Dahl-Tomasson who has them punching above their weight in the table as they find themselves with a serious opportunity to make the play-offs this season.

They enter this game midst a strong run of form having won their last five consecutive matches, the most recent of which was a huge 1-0 win over 2nd place Sheffield United.

The win over The Blades followed a 2-1 win over Premier League side Leicester City in the FA Cup fifth round to complete and excellent week for the Lancashire club who appear to be peaking at exactly the right moment this season.

Their away record has been solid of late, too, having won three and drawn two of their last five matches on the road.

Blackburn were beaten 0-1 by Stoke when the two sides met in the league back in August so they'll be determined to exact revenge here. They know this will be a tough encounter with Stoke coming off a big win, but Blackburn are at their peak right now and should avoid defeat here at least.
