Swansea vs. Middlesbrough Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Swansea vs. Middlesbrough prediction, we're going for a 3-1 win for the away side.

Middlesbrough continue their automatic promotion push as they travel to Wales to face Swansea City this weekend.

Swansea City currently sit 17th in the Championship with eleven wins, ten draws and fourteen losses from thirty-five games this season.

The Swans have had a very underwhelming campaign this time around, with many tipping them to challenge for the play-offs coming into this season only for the Welsh club to spend the majority of the campaign in the bottom half of the table.

They enter this game amidst a poor run of form, too, having drawn one and lost three of their last four matches in the league, the most recent of which was a 1-0 defeat away at Luton Town.

Their home form is equally worrying coming into this game, with The Swans managing just one win in their last five matches on home soil.

Swansea sit twelve points clear of the relegation zone and are in no immediate danger of being dragged into the relegation battle, but many of their fans are likely just waiting for this season to end at this point. They face a tough game here that will likely result in yet another defeat.

Middlesbrough currently sit 3rd in the Championship with eighteen wins, six draws and eleven losses from thirty-five games this season.

Middlesbrough have been a revelation in the Championship this season following the appointment of Michael Carrick as manager, and many fans will be wishing he arrived sooner as gap to automatic promotion is likely going to be a tad too wide to overcome.

They enter this game in fine form having won four of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a thumping 5-0 win over Reading.

The win was a comprehensive rout and Carrick will be pleased with the contribution of on loan Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Ramsey who opened his Boro account with a brace following his arrival in January.

Boro are vulnerable away from home but their overall form on the road is still strong having won three of their last five matches.

Boro beat Swansea 2-1 when the two sides met back in August and the Teeside club have only improved since then with Swansea not managing to do the same.

Middlesbrough are seven points shy of Sheffield United in 2nd and will likely struggle to close the gap and seal and automatic promotion spot. It's not impossible, but it's not in their own hands either. They will, however, likely claim three points here.

          Swansea Team News

Joe Allen and Steven Benda will both miss out for Swansea here, but Matt Grimes should return to the starting XI after missing out last time.

          Middlesbrough Team News

Matt Clarke is out injured while Paddy McNair remains a doubt for Michael Carrick's side.

Marcus Forss could start for The Teesiders here.
