West Brom vs. Blackburn Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our West Brom vs. Blackburn prediction, we're going for a 1-0 win for the home side.

Two sides chasing an eventual play-off berth meet in the Championship this week as West Bromwich Albion welcome Blackburn Rovers to the Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion currently sit 9th in the Championship with twelve wins, eight draws and ten losses from thirty games this season.

The Baggies endured an abysmal start to the season that eventually led to Steve Bruce being dismissed of his duties with West Brom in the relegation zone. Bruce was succeeded by former Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan who has improved Albion's standing tremendously, but they do enter this game in a slight down period that could be of concern to one or two fans.

Corberan's men enter this game having won one and lost three of their last four matches in all competitions, the most recent of which was a 2-0 defeat away at a struggling Birmingham City side.

Their home form, however, has been impervious of late having won each of their last five consecutive matches without conceding a single goal in the process. They will, then, be hoping that home advantage can help them return to winning ways.

West Brom sorely need a win to try and recapture the momentum they had throughout December and early January and as they return to The Hawthorns they can be confident of a win against a fellow play-off contender.

Blackburn Rovers currently sit 8th in the Championship with fourteen wins, three draws and thirteen losses from thirty games this season.

Blackburn were on cloud nine throughout the first few months of the season as they looked as though they were set to be an unexpected automatic promotion contender, but they were soon brought back down to earth as their result gradually tailed off as they began to slide down the league table.

They're now fighting for status as a play-off contender as they enter this game amidst a poor run of league form having won one, drawn three and lost one of their last five league games.

Most recently Blackburn drew 1-1 with another play-off contending side as they faced Watford at Vicarage Road. The point was a positive one for Rovers against a tough opponent and it came at a good time after a disappointing result against bottom of the league Wigan Athletic last time out.

Blackburn did beat West Brom 2-1 at Ewood Park when the two sides last met in the league back in August, but having failed to win any of their last four away matches it'll be tough for Rovers to repeat that result here.
