Leicester vs Birmingham Prediction, Tips & Stats

Two Championship sides will clash in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend with the league leaders Leicester City in the second tier welcoming the struggling Birmingham City to the King Power Stadium.

It's been a memorable season for Leicester so far, and they now have a seven-point gap on Ipswich Town in second place after drawing 1-1 with them in their second meeting of the season back on Monday. The two side also drew 1-1 back at the end of December.

The Foxes have now lost only four times this season in the Championship, and with 21 wins from 28 games coming in alongside their 22 goals let in and 56 scored, the club have the best defensive and attacking stats in the league with the most wins too.

Leicester also managed to lose to Coventry City last weekend in the league which did end a run of 11 games without a loss since a defeat to Middlesbrough at the end of November. That run saw them defeat the likes of Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City, Millwall, Birmingham, Plymouth Argyle, West Bromwich Albion, and Watford, alongside a draw with Sheffield Wednesday. The Foxes defeated Millwall in the FA Cup last time out, as Cesare Casadei scored the opening goal before finishes from Tom Cannon and Ricardo Pereira.

Leicester and Birmingham met around a month ago, as the league leaders secured a victory at St. Andrew's with a brace from Stephy Mavididi alongside a goal from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Jordan James also bagged himself a brace for the Blues that day with a goal in either half.

As for Birmingham, form has certainly turned around since the dismissal of Wayne Rooney at the helm and the addition of Tony Mowbray. The Midlands side drew with Swansea City in his first league meeting before beating Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium, as Juninho Bacuna and Jay Stansfield bagged a goal each.

Mowbray's men managed to defeat Hull City in the FA Cup third round last time out, but they had to do so in a replay back at St. Andrew's, as Stansfield scored once more before a winner from Koji Miyoshi in the 95th minute of the game.

              Leicester team news

Jamie Vardy likely leads the line alongside Tom Cannon once again, as Kelechi Ihaeanacho is away with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations. Wilfred Ndidi is away on international duty as well.

              Birmingham team news

Tyler Roberts and Kevin Long were rested last time out and may now start here, while Scott Hogan has also returned. Neil Etheridge should come into the starting XI for the regular number one, John Ruddy.
