Peterborough vs Leeds Prediction, Tips & Stats

One of the finest in the Championship faces one of the big sides in League One this weekend as Leeds United travel to Peterborough. The Peacocks are unbeaten in all of the last five meetings between the two.

            Peterborough

Peterborough have been dominant this season in League One, earning them a spot in third place. Firstly, the Posh are a defensively solid side that’s only conceded 1.08 goals per game, the fifth-best average in the league. However, going forward, they are even better, scoring 50 goals in 25 matches, the most in the division.

The Posh are unbeaten in their last ten matches, with last weekend’s impressive 3-2 away win over Derby the latest victory. The visitors bounced back twice to claim all three points.

            Leeds United

Daniel Farke’s Leeds have been slightly shaky as of late, but overall this season they have been top-class, and they will be fighting for promotion at the end of the season. The Peacocks are in fourth currently, winning 14 of their 26 matches in the Championship.

They’re the fourth top scorers in the league with 45 goals, while only conceding 25, the third best defensive record. Last time out, both of those aspects were on display as they beat Birmingham 3-0 at home. Leeds dominated from the first whistle until the last.

            Verdict?

Leeds should win this game, although the away trip does make it slightly more difficult. Both sides can score and are relatively strong at the back, so it should be a close affair.

Despite both teams wanting to earn promotion, they should field strong sides this weekend, and we should see goals.

The final prediction is Peterborough 1-3 Leeds United.

            Peterborough Team News

Ricky-Jade Jones, Kwame Poku, and Hector Kyprianou should all start in what could be an unchanged team from last week.

            Leeds Team News

Patrick Bamford, Wilfried Gnonto, and Djed Spence should all start, which will allow Farke to rest some key players.
