Fulham vs. Sunderland Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Fulham vs. Sunderland prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.

It's Premier League vs. Championship in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend as Fulham welcome Sunderland to Craven Cottage.

Fulham are currently flying in the Premier League having defied pre-season predictions of a long, arduous relegation battle as they sit 7th in the table.

Marco Silva's side have been in inspired form form for most of the season but they enter this game amidst a slight dip in form having suffered consecutive 1-0 defeats at the hands of Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Still, they won each of their three games prior in all competitions so their form overall is strong, and it's unlikely those two defeats are a signal of what is to come.

Their form at home has been fairly solid of late having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches on home soil.

The Cottagers have been knocked out in each of their last eight ties in this round of the FA Cup so this is a huge chance to take a big step in their own progression.

Fulham should see this competition as a priority this season given relegation is not on the cards as they have the facilities to make a deep run. They've got a favourable draw here and this is a game they should win.

Sunderland are having a a fine season back in the Championship as they sit 9th in the table, just one point outside of the play-off spots.

They reached the fourth round of the FA Cup by beating Shrewsbury Town 2-1 away from home in the third round.

The Black Cats have no reached the fifth round of this competition since the 2014/15 season so they'll be looking for a landmark statement here.

They enter this game in good form, too, having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches in all competitions, the most recent of which was a very commendable 2-0 win over fellow play-off chasers Middlesbrough last time out.

Away from home Sunderland's form has been quite impressive of late, with Tony Mowbray's men winning three and drawing two of their last five games on the road in all competitions.

Sunderland haven't met Fulham since the two sides faced off in the Championship back in 2018, where The Black Cats were downed 2-1 by their opponents.

A win here would be a huge shock for Sunderland but they're having an excellent season so a giant killing is not off the cards here.
