Reading vs Luton Town Prediction

Reading and Luton Town meet at the weekend, with both having aspirations for a good finish in the league this season and with both having made winning starts to their campaign at the weekend.

Reading finished 12th in the league last season, 12 points adrift of the top six and this summer the Royals have made their intentions clear, especially in the attacking areas. The hosts for this game have moved to secure the signing of Jacob Brown on a free transfer from Luton Town and the coveted signing of Kyreece Lisbie. Lisbie, whose brother moved to Championship side Millwall from Peterborough United, had plied his trade at Colchester United last season, provided 16 goal contributions last season.

Luton Town are one of the favourites for the League One title this season, with pre-season odds of 7/1 for the Hatters to claim the championship this season. Jack Wilshere's side made a late surge for the playoffs and only missed out by a single point after mid-season frustration. The visitors ended their league campaign with six wins in their previous seven matches, whilst only losing one of their pre-season fixtures.

The difference maker for this game could be Luton Town's Jordan Clark. Last season, Clark provided 15 goal contributions for Luton Town in the league, with three goals in Luton's final six league games of the previous campaign.

Reading remained unbeaten against Luton Town last season, however, the momentum with the Hatters from last season should carry the visitors over the line as they start their promotion campaign.
