Bolton vs. Cambridge Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Bolton vs. Cambridge prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the home side.

Two sides with very different ambitions meet in League One this weekend as Bolton Wanderers host Cambridge United.

Bolton Wanderers currently sit 5th in League One with nineteen wins, ten draws and ten losses from thirty-nine games this season.

It's been a solid season for The Trotters, who already have a trophy in the bank, as they look to score a play-off spot with just seven games left to play this season.

They enter this game in a mixed run of form having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five matches in all competitions, but when restricted solely to league form they've won only one of their last five games which could be regarded as concerning looking ahead to the next few weeks.

They are, though, coming off the back of a 1-0 win away at Exeter City, an impressive result given Exeter's record on home soil.

They'll have to hope that this result signifies a strong run of form on the horizon because given how tight the play-off race is their place in the top six is by no means guaranteed.

Their record at home remains very impressive, though, with The Trotters winning four and losing one of their last five games on home soil.

Bolton are level on points with Peterborough and Derby in 6th and 7th so things could still go very south for them this season. It's in their own hands but they need to keep winning and, fortunately for them, this should be a straightforward game for them.

Cambridge United currently sit 22nd in League One with ten wins, six draws and twenty-three losses from thirty-nine games this season.

The U's have had a poor campaign having struggled in and around the relegation zone for a large portion of it and they now face a huge task to avoid dropping down to League Two.

They are, though, coming into this game in decent form having won their last two games on the bounce, with their most recent encounter a 2-1 win over Fleetwood Town.

Cambridge also drew 0-0 with Bolton back in November so they can be confident they match up well with their opponents here.

The U's are three points from safety with just seven games remaining so all is yet to play for. Unfortunately for them they have one of the toughest games in the League One calendar to play here but it's not impossible that they come away with a result.

          Cambridge Team News

Mamadou Jobe is out for Cambridge here with The U's likely to name the same XI that started the win over Fleetwood last time out.
