Ipswich vs. Shrewsbury Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Ipswich vs. Shrewsbury prediction, we're going for a 3-0 win for the home side.

Ipswich Town's League One promotion campaign resumes this weekend as they face Shrewsbury Town at Portman Road on Saturday.

Ipswich Town currently sit 3rd in league One with twenty wins, twelve draws and four losses from thirty-six games this season.

The Tractor Boys have been in fine form for the majority of this campaign but they enter this final stretch of the season under serious threat of missing out on automatic promotion, a conclusion that would be regarded as a frank underachievement.

They enter this game amidst an excellent run of form, however, having won each of their last five consecutive games without conceding a single goal.

Their most recent game saw them claim an excellent win away at fellow promotion chasers Bolton Wanderers by a comfortable 2-0 scoreline.

Their form at home has been very impressive of late too, with The Tractor Boys winning each of their last three consecutive games on home soil by an aggregate scoreline of 11-0.

Ipswich sit just two points behind Plymouth Argyle in second and are the side in superior form, so if they can continue that with a win here there's a reasonable chance they could find themselves in the automatic promotion spots on Saturday evening.

Shrewsbury Town currently sit 9th in League One with sixteen wins, seven draws and thirteen losses from thirty-six games this season.

The Shrews have been up and down for the most part this campaign but they enter this game in a strong position coming into the final stretch of the campaign.

They're coming into this game amidst a mixed run of form having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a handy 2-1 win over Morecambe.

Their away form, however, hasn't been impressive at all having drawn two and lost two of their last four games on the road.

Shrewsbury were comfortably beaten 0-3 by Ipswich when the two sides met in the league back in August and given the form of the two sides, combined with Ipswich's home advantage, means we may well get a repeat result here.
