Carlisle United continue their search for a sorely needed win as they face Leyton Orient in League One this weekend.
Leyton Orient currently sit 10th in League One with ten wins, nine draws and nine losses from twenty-eight games this season.
The Os, freshly promoted from League Two, had a tough first few months of life in League One but they’ve since acclimatised admirably and now look more than comfortable in their surroundings as they quietly look towards the top six.
They’re coming into this game unbeaten in their last six games, winning four of them, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw away at Reading, with the Os goal coming from Dan Agyei.
The point at Reading was decent given they came into the game in good form so Orient will not have been dissatisfied with that result.
They’ve been good at home too, with Orient having taken seven points from their last three games on home soil.
Richie Wellens’ side have been excellent defensively in recent weeks with the single goal conceded at Reading last weekend the only one scored against them in their last six matches.
Leyton Orient are still eleven points shy of the top six but having beaten Bolton Wanderers and Portsmouth in January they’ll feel as though they can make a late run at the playoffs if they can maintain this level for the next few months.
Carlisle United currently sit 23rd in League One with four wins, eight draws and seventeen losses from twenty-nine games this season.
Like their opponents, Carlisle are fresh off the back of a promotion from League Two last season but unlike Leyton Orient, they’re having real difficulty with the standard of the league.
They’re coming into this game woefully out of form having won just one of their last fourteen games in the league, the most recent of which was a 1-4 hammering at the hands of now 2nd-place Bolton Wanderers.
The result was not an unexpected one, but it was Carlisle’s fourth defeat on the bounce and further compounded their misery.
Their showings away from home have been equally bad, with the Cumbrians having won just once away from home in all competitions all season with four of their last five ending in defeat.
Carlisle have lost all of their last four head-to-head meetings with Leyton Orient and it does not feel like that run is going to improve here.
For our Leyton Orient vs. Carlisle prediction, we’re going for a 2-0 win for the home side.
