Lincoln vs. Peterborough Prediction, Tips & Stats

Peterborough United continue their assault on top spot in League One as they face Lincoln City away from home this weekend.

Lincoln City currently sit 12th in League One with eight wins, ten draws and ten losses from twenty-eight games this season.

Predictably mid-table, the Imps aren't doing much damage in League One this season but their form has concerningly dipped quite dramatically in the last few months.

Lincoln have really been struggling of late as they enter this game winless in their last nine games in all competitions, the most recent of which was a 0-0 draw at home to Derby County.

In fairness, the point against Derby was a good one given the Rams are automatic promotion contenders so they'll hope they can build on that here as they face another side gunning for a top-two finish this season.

Their home form in general has been well short of what they produced last season as they come into this game winless in their last six games on home soil.

They're still eight points clear of the relegation zone so that's not a major worry at present, but their form is definitely that of a relegation contender so if it continues things could start to get nervy.

This is a hugely tough game for Lincoln and they'll probably be happy with a point here.

Peterborough United currently sit 2nd in League One with sixteen wins, seven draws and four losses from twenty-seven games this season.

The Posh are having an excellent season and seem to be going from strength to strength as the weeks pass by as they have their eyes locked on top spot.

They're coming into this game in excellent form having lost just one of their last twenty-one games in the league, having won their last three on the bounce.

Their latest outing saw them claim a 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town with goals from Harrison Burrows and Ephron Mason-Clark enough to seal all three points.

Darren Ferguson's side have been exceptionally strong away from home in recent weeks too, with the Posh currently unbeaten in their last five games on the road having won their last four consecutive away games.

These two sides met back in October in the league and Peterborough cruised to a comfortable 2-0 victory, which meant they've now won all of their last three head-to-head meetings with the Imps by a combined scoreline of 9-0.

The Posh just need to keep things ticking over and a win here would do just that. They're the firm favourites for this one and should come out on top.

For our Lincoln vs. Peterborough prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.

          Lincoln Team News

Lincoln could name the same lineup for a second straight game after solid draw with Derby County last time out.

If there is a change, that may come up top with teenager Freddie Draper making way for Jovon Makama.

          Peterborough Team News

The Posh are flying and are unlikely to make many alterations to their starting lineup from their latest league game for this one.

They do, though, still have a couple of key absentees with Kwame Poku and Nicholas Bilokapic both still out with injury.
