For our Lincoln vs. Portsmouth prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
We have a mid-table clash in League One this weekend as Lincoln City host Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon.
Lincoln City currently sit 13th in League One with eight wins, fourteen draws and seven losses from twenty-nine games this season.
The Imps have had a fairly mediocre campaign this time around as they look set to cruise to a harmless mid-table finish. Not a bad campaign and one they can build on as they proven a very difficult team to beat having been hampered by too many draws.
They enter this game amidst a solid run of form having gone unbeaten in their last five league matches, winning two and drawing three.
Most recently, Lincoln secured an impressive point away at an in form Derby County side in a 1-1 draw.
Lincoln have won only three times at home in the league this season but they're exceptionally difficult to beat in their own turf having drawn every other game, reigning unbeaten this season.
If Lincoln can find a way to turn these draws into wins next season they could be a real force in the league, but for now they're likely too short on quality to achieve anything of not. In terms of this game, it should be a competitive encounter and one that The Imps could take three points from.
Portsmouth currently sit 10th in League One with ten wins, eleven draws and eight losses from twenty-nine games this season.
Pompey's season has been one of the more peculiar in the English football pyramid, with many expecting them to mount a serious promotion push this season and their early season form suggested they'd do just that as they spent the majority of the opening weeks in the automatic promotion spots. However, they abruptly fell off a cliff form-wise and have been on a steady decline ever since.
They now seem to have plateaued, though, and they enter this amidst a mediocre run of form having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches in the league.
Most recently, Portsmouth beat a struggling Burton Albion side 1-0 at home courtesy of a 92nd minute winner from Tottenham Hotspur loanee Dane Scarlett. It's been a tough few months for the 18-year-old having lost his form following a strong start but both he and Pompey will hope that this goal acts as a catalyst for a strong run of goalscoring form.
Their away form has been pretty poor having lost four of their last five games on the road, so given Lincoln's strong home form this looks a tough one for them.
The two sides drew 0-0 when they met in the league back in August and we can likely expect a similarly close game here. If anyone wins it it will likely be Lincoln, but a stalemate seems the most likely outcome here.
