Morecambe and Plymouth Argyle are both coming into this game week off the back of their heaviest defeats of the season after a 5-0 loss for the Shrimps just as the Pilgrims were hammered in the Football League Trophy final.
Plymouth were 2-0 down inside 10 minutes against Bolton Wanderers in last Sunday's final, as the club managed to lose the game at Wembley 4-0 with just three shots on target of their own. It marks the heaviest defeat of the season for Plymouth and now turns all their attention to league action, as they sit behind the league leaders Sheffield Wednesday by only goals difference but with a game in hand to play after playing in the final last weekend.
It now means the club could return to the summit of League One in the forthcoming weeks, and they are also heading into this game with 24 wins and six losses in the league with 67 goals scored.
As for Morecambe, they were battered 5-0 by Barnsley in their last outing and it now throws them back down in 22nd and has massively damaged their goals difference with them now letting in the third-most goals in League One this season. They also sit behind Accrington Stanely by one point just above them by one point but having played the most games in the league with 40, which also means every side in the division has a game in hand over them at least.
