Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers will kick off the League One action this weekend on Friday night at Hillsborough with the home side top of the table just as the away outfit aim to close the gap on the top four.
Bolton have fallen from fourth into sixth in recent weeks with a 3-1 loss away to Portsmouth at Fratton Park, just as they went on to draw 0-0 with Morecambe and then lose to Ipswich Town at home too. It means three games without a win since registering a victory over Accrington Stanley in the Football League Trophy semi-finals and a win over Port Vale in the league.
The Wanderers are in sixth now with 18 wins on the board and 10 losses too, as well as nine draws. It seems them with 51 goals scored and 30 goals conceded - only Wednesday and Barnsley have conceded fewer goals.
The gap is still 14 points on Wednesday, however, and worse yet, the Greater Manchester side head into this game having played three more games than the league leaders and three more than Barnsley in fourth. At the same time, Wycombe Wanderers just below them in seventh also have two games in hand to play.
As for Wednesday, they recorded their fifth win on the spin last time out to Portsmouth, and their 1-0 win that day was the third time in a row they won by such a scoreline. What's more, they've managed to defeat MK Dons 5-2 and Morecambe 3-0 in this time, with the club's only loss in the past six weeks coming in a 1-0 defeat at Highbury to Fleetwood Town, as they also beat Plymouth Argyle 1-0 and drew 2-2 with third-placed Ipswich Town.
Wednesday remain three points clear of Plymouth Argyle at the top of League One, as they have won one more game and conceded the fewest goals in the league with 22. The Owls also have two games in hand to play over second and third in the league.
Wednesday are coming into this one as the favourites to secure all three points at 7/10, as they also sit at 4/6 to win on the full time result 2UP market - if your team takes a two goal lead at any stage before full time, they'll immediately settle your bet as a winner. Bolton are at 18/5 to win this one with them at 10/3 in the 2UP market.
