For our Shrewsbury vs. Port Vale prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the home side.
An in form Shrewsbury Town side are looking to continue their excellent run as they face Port Vale in League One this weekend.
Shrewsbury Town currently sit 9th in League One with thirteen wins, five draws and eleven losses from twenty-nine games this season.
The Shrews have underwhelmed for the most part this season as they spent most of the early months lingering around the bottom half of the table, but an excellent recent run of form has propelled them into the play-off mix.
They enter this game amidst an excellent run of form having won each of their last five consecutive matches in the league, with their most recent game a 1-0 win away at Oxford United.
Their home form has been mixed of late having won two and lost three of their last five matches on home soil, but having won each of their last two home games they can feel as though they've turned a corner in that regard.
Shrewsbury now sit just three points outside of the play-off spots and will be confident of making a late run for a top six finish. It won't be easy, but another three points here will help immensely and that is what they should get.
Port Vale currently sit 14th in League One with ten wins, seven draws and twelve losses from twenty-nine games this season.
Port Vale have had a fairly unremarkable campaign this season having spent the majority of it sitting in mid-table, and it looks as though that will be their destiny as they show no signs of levelling up.
They enter this game amidst a poor run of form having drawn two and lost three of their last five league matches, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw at home to Accrington Stanley.
Away from home their form is slightly better, however, having taken four points from their last two league games on the road.
Port Vale can take encouragement from the fact they thumped Shrewsbury 4-0 when the two sides met in the league back in September, but considering Shrewsbury's form this should be a drastically tougher game this time around.
Port Vale are ten points clear of the relegation zone and not in any immediate danger of relegation, but they need a few more wins to be safe. Here, though, three points will be hard to come by.
