Stevenage are looking for three wins in a row when they meet with Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park where the home side have turned around their early worries and moved into the top half of the table.
Wycombe were in FA Cup first round action last time out and managed to edge past Bradford City with a goal from Killian Phillips before an own goal won it for them. The club drew 0-0 with Cambridge United before this and also tied with Oxford United before the end of October as well. Combine this with a 4-2 loss at Adams Park to Bolton Wanderers and a 2-2 draw with Peterborough, and it now means a four-game winless run in League One.
The Wanderers' last win in the league came against Fleetwood Town away from home, as Dale Taylor scored twice before Luke Leahy and Freddie Potts grabbed a goal each. They also, oddly enough, managed to get a win over Stevenage at their ground shortly after that win, as Sam Vokes returned to the scoresheet with a goal that day. The club saw two shots on target and had nine efforts in total, as Stevenage had 10 efforts and hit the target just once.
Wycombe are now sitting with 23 goals let in and 22 goals scored, alongside their five losses and six wins. The club are sitting in 10th and can rocket themselves into seventh with a win and if other results go their way. A win would put them behind Stevenage by two points.
As for them, Steve Evans now sees his side up into sixth after sitting seven just a few months back. Evans' side did defeat Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup first round over the weekend, as Kane Hemmings and Jordan Roberts scored a goal each alongside a finish each from Jamie Reid.
Their last League One outing saw them defeat Derby County 3-1 with Roberts and Hemmings back amongst the goals, as Alex MacDonald also scored. Before this run, however, Stevenage lost to Bristol Rovers and Port Vale and were also beaten 3-0 by Blackpool.
