For our Wimbledon vs. Carlisle prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
Carlisle United continue their push for automatic promotion as they host AFC Wimbledon in League Two this weekend.
AFC Wimbledon currently sit 13th in League Two with ten wins, nine draws and nine losses from twenty-nine games this season.
The Dons have been up and down in terms of form this season and despite threatening a run at the play-off spots they now look destined for a mid-table finish. That is, though, still markedly better than the relegation scrap they initially looked set for.
They enter this game amidst a poor run of form having won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five matches in the league.
They did, though, face leaders Leyton orient in their most recent game - which ended in a 1-0 defeat - and that was following an impressive win over Stockport County so it's not fair to hold them to account too heavily for that.
Wimbledon's home form has been solid of late having won two and drawn two of their last four on home soil so they can be confident of a result here against a strong opponent.
Carlisle United currently sit 3rd in League Two with fourteen wins, nine draws and six losses from twenty-nine games this season.
Predicated by many to be one of the main relegation candidates, Carlisle have been arguably the surprise package in League Two this season as they find themselves in the automatic promotion places as we enter the final third of the campaign.
They enter this game in good form having won four and lost one of their last five league matches, but the defeat did come in their most recent game and it was one they'll be disappointed to have lost.
Carlisle were beaten 0-1 by struggling Harrogate Town on their own turf in a frustrating encounter. They now face a tough task in having brush themselves off ahead of a potentially tricky game here.
Their away form has been decent of late, though, having won two and lost one of their last five league games on the road so they'll be hoping they can lean on that here.
Carlisle beat Wimbledon 2-1 when they faced them in League Two back in September, so they can take comfort from the fact they matchup well with their opponent even if both sides have improved since then.
The race for automatic promotion is very, very tight in League Two and Carlisle are only one point ahead of Northampton Town in 4th. They do, then, need to win here as they look to keep their place in the top three and considering Wimbledon's recent struggles they should fancy themselves.
