Valley Parade opens its doors for Bradford City versus Grimsby Town this Saturday amongst a few Football League games going down during the international break with both sides aiming to get their season going after tough starts.
Heading into this one, Bradford are down in 15th and are once again struggling for any sort of consistency as they continue to fail to get fans on their side in pursuit of a charge to the playoffs.
Last time out, the Bantams drew 0-0 at Field Mill with Mansfield Town in a game that saw less than three shots on target for both sides, although they did manage to edge past fellow League Two side Wrexham in the EFL Cup second round after a penalty shootout win following a 1-1 draw.
This does now mean a three-game unbeaten run for Bradford after also beating Crewe Alexandra back in League Two with Jamie Walker scoring once more in a 1-0 win at Valley Parade. The club did lose 3-0 on the road to Morecambe before this and also drew 1-1 with Stockport County away from home before that. The only over win Mark Hughes' men have put together this season has been over Colchester United where Clarke Oduor and Alex Pattison scored a goal each.
As for Grimsby, they played in the midweek Football League Trophy games, as the club lost 2-0 at Oakwell to Barnsley. Prior to this, they managed to beat Gillingham 2-0 with a goal each from Niall Maher and Gavan Holohan.
Elsewhere, Paul Hurst's side have drawn with Walsall and lost to Manchester City U21s on penalties in the EFL Trophy group stage games, while also drawing with Mansfield Town before that. This means the club have only managed to also beat Salford City this season with losses to Notts County in the league and Mansfield Town in the EFL Cup first round, as Grimsby also drew 0-0 on the opening weekend with Wimbledon.
