Notts County are sitting in second ahead of their meeting with Crewe Alexandra at the Mornflake Stadium with the newly-promoted side aiming to return to the top after losing to their National League rivals Wrexham last time out.
It was a tough loss to take for Notts County last time out, as they suffered yet another defeat to Wrexham a season on from their famous battles in the National League.
Worse yet, they had just three shots on target that day on home soil and are now adrift of Stockport County in first place by five points with four wins on the board, nine wins and three draws. They have, however, still scored 33 goals - the same as County - meaning only Crewe have more, as they are the top scorers in League Two.
Despite the loss to Wrexham, County did manage to beat Newport County with ease in a 3-0 win, as Macauley Langstaff scored a brace with a goal in either half after Daniel Crowley scored too. They also managed to beat Gillingham 2-1 before this with another finish from Langstaff, as Lewis Macari bagged the winner late on. County had 13 shots on target across those two games and continue to have more than 60% of the ball.
As for Crewe, they are having a sensational season of their own and can move into second and above County if they win. The club have scored the most goals so far with 35 going in and 25 conceded too.
After racking up their eighth win over Harrogate Town last weekend, Crewe went on to draw 2-2 with Derby County in the FA Cup first round and will now head to Pride Park on Tuesday for a replay against the Rams. Alongside the Football League Trophy games, it means Crewe have the busiest schedule of all teams in League Two this November.
It's a tough game to call, given how County are away from home but aiming to push themselves towards back-to-back promotions. We still don't know if Crewe have the consistency levels they need, but regardless, goals are expected in this one.
