Crewe vs Swindon Prediction, Tips & Stats

Crewe Alexandra and Swindon Town have nothing to play for in these last two games down in League Two with only seven points separating the two sides despite there being eight places between them in the league.

Crewe have lost their past two games over the last week with a 2-0 loss at Leyton Orient and another 2-0 defeat on the road to Grimsby Town. Combine this with a 4-0 hammering from Colchester United and it means three defeats in April so far.

They have, however, managed to beat Walsall in this time and eased to wins over Barrow and Doncaster Rovers by scoring a combined seven goals and keeping three clean sheets.

On the other hand, the only thing Crewe fans will be bothered about heading into the final two games of the season is how they have managed to avoid relegation after a terrible start to the season. The club are also coming into this one with 12 wins on the board now, and this is just three fewer than Swindon's tally.

As for Swindon, they suffered their 16th defeat with a loss at home to Stevenage and it now means they have lost the same amount of games as Crewe. Worse yet, they sit behind Bradford City in the playoffs spot of seventh by 14 points.

          Swindon team news

Swindon will be without a few players for this game, as Shade and Luke Jephcott face late fitness tests ahead of the game. McEachran, Khan and Cain are all likely to come into the side here. Hutton, Brewitt, Clayton and Lavinier are all likely to remain in the defence, however, but Charlie Austin should now start because of injuries elsewhere. Ronan Darcy should also play here with Jacob Wakeling likely to get more minutes. Harrison Minturn is out of action in this one for Swindon.

          Crewe team news

Crewe's recent run of losing form could spring some changes for the side, but Agyei, Nevitt and Long should all remain as a forward three in this one. Courtney Baker-Richardson may also get some minutes in this one off the bench, as he has done in the past few games. Lachlan Brook, Charlie Finney and Joel Tabiner are all likely to start in this game after missing the last outing. Booth is likely to remain in the goalkeeper spot with Dave Richards remaining on the bench. Connor O'Riordan is now back too, and we should see Ainley, Thomas and Finnigan in the midfield. There seems to be no new injuries for Crewe, so expect Uwakwe, McDonald, Luke Offord and Mellor.
