Priestfield hosts Gillingham and Forest Green Rovers this Saturday. This is a big weekend in League Two with Gillingham hunting down a spot in the Play-offs and Forest Green looking to get themselves off the bottom of the table.
Gillingham currently sit eighth in League Two after 26 games. The Gills have 13 wins, two draws and 11 losses, leaving them on 41 points, just two points behind sixth-place Notts County and nine points from third-place Mansfield Town.
In their last five games in all competitions, Gillingham have three wins and two losses.
Despite having eight more shots than Crawley Town and 64% of the possession, Gillingham were on the losing side. Will Wright opened the scoring in the first half and Jack Roles secured the 2 - 0 win for Crawley in the second half. Gillingham bounced back against a struggling Sutton United. Harry Smith was sent off early on for Sutton, and Scott Malone took advantage in the second half to grab a 1 - 0 win for Gillingham.
It was another 1 - 0 win for Gillingham, this time against Colchester. Despite Colchester having more of the possession, Malone was on the scoresheet again for Gillingham in the second half to give them the 1 - 0 win. In the Third Round of the FA Cup, Gillingham hosted Premier League Sheffield United. A first half brace from William Osula and a second half brace from James McAtee gave Sheffield United the dominant 4 - 0 win.
The last time out for Gillingham was back in League Two against Accrington Stanley. Alex Henderson opened the scoring for Accrington Stanley just five minutes into the second half, but goals from Conor Masterson and Macauley Bonne gave Gillingham the 2 - 1 comeback win.
Forest Green Rovers, on the other hand, sit bottom of the League Two table. In 26 games, Forest Green have four wins, six draws and 16 losses which leaves them on 18 points, nine points from safety.
In their last five games in all competitions, Forest Green have two draws and three losses.
A Ryan Delaney own goal in the second minute and a goal from Mathew Stevens gave Forest Green the 2 - 0 lead. However, after the red card to Callum Graham Jones, a brace from Will Evans and goals from Lewis Payne and Delaney gave Newport the 4 - 2 win. Dan Kemp opened the scoring early in the second half for Swindon Town but Matt Taylor equalised for Rovers in the 74th minute. However, with just ten minutes to go, Kemp completed his brace to give Swindon the 2 - 1 win.
The next time out against Wimbledon, Stevens gave Rovers the lead in the fourth minute. This lead didn’t last long as Ali Al-Hamadi equalised eight minutes later as the game ended in a 1 - 1 draw. It was another draw for Forest Green when they took on Salford City. Matt Smith gave Salford the early lead but Charlie McCann got Rovers level before halftime. Stevens then gave Forest Green the lead in the second half but some late red cards to Salford’s Adrian Mariappa and Rovers’ Ryan Inniss opened the door and a 91st minute penalty from Ryan Watson meant the game finished in a 2 - 2 draw.
The most recent outing for Forest Green was against Harrogate Town. Following a red card to Forest Green’s Alex Rodriguez, Jack Muldoon and Abraham Odoh both scored in a 2 - 0 win for Harrogate Town.
Gillingham and Forest Green Rovers have only met once before, as recently as late December. That game ended in a 0 - 0 draw, with both teams managing 11 shots, but failing to convert any of them.
