Northampton are back up into fourth after a swift return to the win column last time out against Colchester United with a trip to Harrogate Town up next for the Cobblers as they aim to get their automatic playoff charge back on track.
Northampton defeated Colchester United 1-0 last time out in League Two, as Louis George Appeire got back on the scoresheet for his side. Jon Brady's men did previously fail to win any of their four previous attempts to win a game in February with them drawing against Walsall 0-0, Rochdale 1-1 and Wimbledon 0-0. Brady's side also lost 2-1 to Grimsby Town at home two weeks ago.
This run of form does see the Cobblers up into fourth once more and they are now eyeing up a spot back in the automatic promotion spots, as Carlisle United in second are just three points clear with Northampton having a game extra to player here. However, unless they can overturn a +7 goals difference, they will remain in third and behind the Cumbrians. Northampton are two behind Stevenage now in the League Two table and also have an inferior goals difference against them.
There are now 15 points separating Harrogate and Northampton in the league table after Simon Weaver's men lost 3-0 to Swindon Town last weekend. This has extended the unbeaten run of Harrogate to four games since their stunning 1-0 win over the high-flying Carlisle at the start of February, as the club went on to lose to Stockport County, draw with Salford City, Crewe Alexandra and Grimsby just before that loss to Swindon.
