Morecambe went ahead through Michael Mellon in the 12th minute, but Will Evans equalised before halftime for Newport County. In the second half Seb Palmer-Houlden put Newport ahead to give them the 2 - 1 win.

In the Second round of the FA Cup, Morecambe travelled to Wycombe.
