Northampton will be looking to chip away at Stevenage this weekend when the club welcomes Crawley Town to the Sixfields Stadium with the away side still rooted into the bottom two and currently staring in the face of non-league football.
It's been a terrible season for Crawley Town so far this year. They do have three games in hand on sides like Colchester United and Gillingham in the race to get back into the safe spots of League Two, although they are also boasting of just six wins all campaign long and barely have anything to shout about heading into this game. Worse yet, the club are also on a four-game losing run and they haven't picked up a point since drawing 2-2 with Crewe Alexandra back in early February.
During this period, Stockport County, Leyton Orient, Carlisle United and Tranmere Rovers have beaten the club, as Crawley have witnessed nine goals conceded and only three scored of their own. The club's last win came against Salford City in a fantastic 3-2 victory at home.
Crawley have now collected only 26 points this campaign and head into the match with six wins, eight draws and 17 losses. Worse yet, only Hartlepool United just above them have conceded more goals with 62 compared to Crawley's 53, while only Rochdale and Gillingham have scored fewer than the club's 34.
As for Northampton, they dropped points once again last time out in a 1-1 draw with Harrogate Town that saw them move down into fourth and behind Stevenage in second by four points. At the same time, the Cobblers have played one more game than the second-placed side and they are also heading into this one with now the fewest goals scored inside the top five of the division.
Northampton last collected all three points when they met with Colchester United in a 1-0 win on the road, as Louis George Appere scored in the first half of a narrow win.
