A promotion hopeful will play hosts to a relegation-threatened side in League Two this weekend at the Lamex Stadium with Stevenage aiming to get back into the win column after a poor run of form sees them in third.
Stevenage drew 1-1 with Northampton Town last time out in what was their best chance to get back into the top two this season after a drop down into third. Jamie Reid managed to get another goal that day for Stevenage on the road with an equaliser 20 minutes from time.
This did, however, make it three games in a row without a win after drawing with Carlisle United and losing 3-1 to Salford City at home just two weeks back. In fact, this time last month, Stevenage lost to the bottom-placed Rochdale 2-0 away from home.
Stevenage have now won 19 games and lost eight across 38 games and have scored 52 goals of their own - only Mansfield Town, Salford City, Carlisle United and Northampton Town have scored more.
The Boro now sit behind Northampton in third by two points and with a gap of nine points to deal with on the league leaders Leyton Orient. At the same time, however, they do have a game in hand to play over Northampton in third.
As for Colchester, they are still in 21st but they are out of the relegation zone for yet another week after a 0-0 draw with Newport County. They sit above Crawley Town in 22nd by one point and are also above Hartlepool United in 23rd by three points with no games in hand to play for anyone around the relegation zone besides Harrogate Town.
Colchester have managed to draw with the league leaders Leyton Orient in recent weeks in a 2-2 draw away from home, as they also drew 1-1 with Tranmere Rovers at home two weeks back.
