Stevenage will look to revive their hopes of getting into second this season when they play hosts to Walsall in League Two this Saturday afternoon as they currently trail Carlisle United by just one point in the table.
Stevenage head into this game with 17 games won on their books so far and only seven losses. They are also one of the few teams to defeat Leyton Orient in League Two this season, but they are heading into this game with a 12-point gap on the league leaders and a point behind Carlisle.
On the other hand, they do have two games in hand to play over Orient in the league table and also sit behind Carlisle with an extra game to play too. At the same time, only Bradford City and Orient have betters goals difference records this season in the league.
Stevenage have, however, slipped up greatly in the last few months of action and head into this one having lost to bottom-placed Rochdale 2-0. They did manage to defeat Wimbledon 3-2 shortly before this, but they also lost to Tranmere Rovers 1-0 as well. The club have also lost to Bradford and drawn with Newport and Stevenage in recent weeks.
As for Walsall, they are winless in the past month, having lost to Barrow last weekend and registering a draw with Bradford City in midweek. The club have also drawn 0-0 with Crewe Alexandra and played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Hartlepool not long after.
They sit down in 14th as a result and are behind the top 10 by seven points. On the other hand, the club have two games in hand to play over many sides around them and there is now a chance they can rocket themselves into the top 12 over the coming weeks.
