Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes head into this game in two completely contrasting areas of the Western Conference table with the home side now crashing to the foot of the division after yet another defeat last time out.
The Rapids head into this match with San Jose having won just two games all season long. It means no side have won less than them and they also sit bottom of the overall table and not just the Western one. In fact, with no games in hand to play on any sides around them, they have by far the worst record of any side in MLS up until this point.
Worse yet, the club have also lost eight times and drawn six other games with just 14 goals scored - only the New York Red Bulls have scored less goals than them.
Colorado lost to Columbus Crew on Wednesday and were also beaten by Cincinnati at home before that. The club also fell to a 1-0 loss at home to Real Salt Lake in the round of 16 of the U.S. Open Cup and lost to Salt Lake in the league at home again just three days prior.
Combine this with defeats to Philadelphia Union and a 4-0 hammering from Atlanta United and it now means the club come into this game on a six-game losing run and lat tasted a victory in MLS in a 3-1 win away to LA Galaxy at the start of May.
As for San Jose, they re in fifth ahead of this game after a 1-1 draw with Dallas last weekend before a 1-0 victory away to the Western Conference league leaders, Seattle Sounders.
