CF Montréal face New York City in MLS this weekend as they look to try and jump into the top seven places.
CF Montréal currently sit 8th in MLS's Eastern Conference with eight wins, two draws and nine losses from nineteen games this season.
It's been a mixed season for Montréal thus far and they'll be hoping they can build on what is a solid position coming into the second half of the regular season as they sit just shy of the final series positions.
They enter this game in solid form, too, having lost just one of their last five matches while going unbeaten in their last three, taking seven points from those encounters.
Their most recent game saw them held to a 0-0 draw away in Charlotte, a game that brought an end to a two-match winning run.
Their form at home, though, has been outstanding of late with Montréal winning each of their last six consecutive games on home soil be a combined scoreline of 12-0.
Montréal are a serious force in front of their own fans and to win six straight games without conceding a single goal is a mean feat.
They'll be firmly confident of continuing their winning streak on home soil here against a fairly middling side.
New York City FC currently sit 13th in MLS's Eastern Conference with four wins, nine draws and seven losses from twenty games this season.
It's been a fairly poor season for a New York City side that are wholly unremarkable at present and it would be a surprise to most if they managed to put a run together at any point during the campaign that catapulted them into the postseason.
They're coming into this game woefully out of form having failed to win any of their last twelve games in all competitions, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw away at Portland Timbers.
The draw at Portland was New York's fifth on the bounce and continued their miserable winless run.
New York are terrible away from home, too, having failed to win a single game on the road in all competitions so far this season.
Funnily enough New York beat Montréal 3-1 on this ground when the two sides met at the back end of last season but given Montréal's formidability on home soil it seems like a repeat of that result is almost impossible this time around.
Expect the Canadians to cruise to victory here.
For our CF Montréal vs. New York City FC prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the home side.
