St. Louis City are eyeing up top spot in the Western Conference this weekend when they meet with Houston Dynamo at home with the club sitting second in the league and only narrowly behind Seattle Sounders in first.
It's been an incredible debut campaign for St. Louis this year and they have the best goals difference record so far with +15. This comes as a result of being the joint-highest scorers in the league with Columbus Crew, as both have netted 29 goals each.
St. Louis, however, have let in just 14 goals and won eight times this season - only the top two in the Eastern Conference have secured more wins.
Better yet, the club have also three games in hand to play over Seattle in top spot and sit just one point behind, so there is a chance we could see them be as much as 10 points clear in the forthcoming weeks. Los Angeles are just behind them, however, and head into this game with a game extra to play on St. Louis and four on Seattle.
As for Houston, they are yet to win a game on the road this season with all five of their wins coming in Texas. The club have also lost six times and sit down in ninth with a game in hand on all those around them. This could see Houston jump to as high as sixth in the forthcoming weeks.
