Arsenal face another huge test in their bid for a first Premier League crown since 2004 as they take on Chelsea this weekend.
The Gunners come into the game top of the league table with a five-point cushion over Manchester City in second, having played one game more. Fresh off the back of a 4-1 win away at North London adversaries Tottenham, Mikel Arteta's team silenced many doubters that had recently emerged following a run consisting of some fairly underwhelming results.
Arsenal have lost only one of their last 21 games, a 2-3 defeat to Man United, and have won six of their last eight games. In that eight game stretch, over 2.5 goals have been scored on six occasions, while BTTS has occurred in 50% of those outings. The Gunners will take confidence from their recent head-to-head record with Chelsea, which has seen them go unbeaten in ten, winning all of the last three.
The Blues come into this one in uncertain territory. Since Liam Rosenior took charge of Chelsea, the Blues have played twelve games in all competitions, losing only two and winning eight. While results have been strong, performances have been mixed. Chelsea have displayed some concerning habits, particularly in recent draws with Burnley and Leeds, where they let leads slip and had to settle for draws after losing control of the game in the second half.
In Chelsea's last eight games, over 2.5 goals have been scored in six of them, while BTTS has also been scored in six of their last eight. The Blues will be desperate to respond to last week's draw with Burnley with a high-quality performance, but having lost to Arsenal twice this season already, their odds of avoiding defeat don't look strong.
Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea
