Brentford vs. Aston Villa Prediction, Tips & Stats

Aston Villa's push for a European place continues in the Premier League as they face Brentford this weekend.

Brentford currently sit 9th in the Premier League with ten wins, thirteen draws and eight losses from thirty-one games this season.

The Bees have had an excellent campaign in the Premier League this season as they look to round it off with a strong finish to the season.

They have, however, faltered in recent weeks as they enter this game winless in their last five matches having fallen to a 2-0 defeat away at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

The defeat at Wolves confirmed their third straight loss in the Premier League, a run that Thomas Frank will be desperate to halt in its tracks.

Their home form still reads largely positively with The Bees having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five games on home soil.

Brentford have little to play for at this stage of the season but they'll be desolate to finish as high in the table as possible and as such their motivation for three points here will not be curtailed.

Aston Villa currently sit 6th in the Premier League with fifteen wins, five draws and eleven losses from thirty-one games this season.

Villa have been thriving since the appointment of Unai Emery and enter this game in scintillating form having won their last five matches in a row while conceding just one goal.

Their most recent game saw them dismantle one of the league's best sides in Newcastle United as they romped to a 3-0 win at Villa Park.

The win means Villa are now eight games unbeaten in the Premier League and have their eyes locked on a European spot.

Striker Ollie Watkins has been transformed by Unai Emery following a tough start to the season as he enters this game having scored five goals in his last four matches following a brace against Newcastle.

Another player bang in form is England U21 international Jacob Ramsey who's also rediscovering his best form under the tutelage of Emery, with Ramsey now boasting two goals in his last five from midfield.

Villa have been very strong away from home of late having won three and drawn one of their last four games on the road and won't be intimated by a trip to Brentford, regardless of how tough it may be.

Villa battered Brentford 4-0 when the two sides met back in October and considering the form of the two sides they'll no doubt be very confident of making it a league double here.

For our Brentford vs. Aston Villa prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.

          Brentford Team News

Pontus Jansson, Kristoffer Ajer and Keane Lewis-Potter are all out injured for the home side, with manager Thomas Frank likely to make a few changes here.

Yoane Wissa and Mikkel Damsgaard are both looking to start in light of a poor run of form for The Bees.

          Aston Villa Team News

Leon Bailey continues to miss out for Villa with a muscle injury, but Unai Emery is unlikely to tinker with what has been an outstandingly successful formula for the Birmingham club of late.
