Leeds United will be looking to end their home campaign in the Premier League in winning fashion, however they face a Brighton & Hove Albion side who has European aspirations on their mind with two games left.
The Peacocks clinched survival last weekend, when a win from Arsenal away at West Ham United meant that their subsequent 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Monday essentially meant nothing for Leeds United. The home side is in good league form with no defeats in their previous seven, however, over 50% of their results have been draws during this run of fixtures and the hosts have only won three of their previous 10 Premier League matches. Defensively, the home side is struggling as of late, with no clean sheets in their last four games, which doesn't bode well against a Brighton side that has scored first in five of their last seven.
The Seagulls are in excellent form, with five league wins in their last seven matches, with the defeat to Newcastle United the only slight hiccup for the away side. Brighton & Hove Albion will have the competitive edge for this fixture since the Seagulls still have something to play for, whereas Leeds won't have that pressure. However, considering the performance of the Peacocks on Monday, they will unlikely to make it easy for the Seagulls, so expect a close contest here, especially since Leeds have not lost a home game since Sunderland at the start of March.
Danny Welbeck's role could be decisive. The 35-year-old who is under consideration for Thomas Tuchel's plans for the World Cup, has scored 13 goals this season and was on target in the reverse fixture in November.
With that being said, Brighton should be able to edge out Leeds United given their current form.
Leeds 1-2 Brighton
