West Ham vs. Aston Villa Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our West Ham vs. Aston Villa prediction, we're going for a 1-0 win for the away side.

It's the battle of claret and blue in the Premier League this weekend as West Ham United face Aston Villa at the London Stadium.

West Ham United currently sit 16th in the Premier League with six wins, five draws and fourteen losses from twenty-five games this season.

The Hammers have endured a tough campaign in which they've failed to meet the standards they set last season, with manager David Moyes frequently being called into question.

Their most recent Premier League game saw them take a comprehensive battering at Brighton & Hove Albion in a 4-0 loss.

They did at least deliver an immediate response in midweek as they beat AEK Larnaca 2-0 away from home in the Europa Conference League, but West Ham's form in Europe has not aligned with their league form this season so that result is likely not an indicator of how this game will play out.

Their home form has been quite positive of late, in fairness, with The Hammers taking seven points from their last three league matches on home soil.

West Ham are just one point clear of the relegation zone and still have it all do to with regards to survival. They must ensure they make the London Stadium a fortress between now and May and it is games like this they cannot afford to lose.

Aston Villa currently sit 11th in the Premier league with ten wins, four draws and eleven losses from twenty-five games this season.

It's been an up and down season for a Villa side that find themselves in s are position in the league while being seemingly unable to kick on to greener pastures.

Admittedly, Unai Emery needs much more time at the helm to implement everything he desires but the early signs have been positive even if there's an air of inconsistency about them.

They enter this game off the back of a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Villa Park last weekend, a result that sealed not only a second straight win but a second successive clean sheet.

Their form away from home has been very impressive of late too, with Emery's men winning three of their last four games on the road.

Villa were beaten 0-1 by West Ham back in August but that was under the guidance off Steven Gerrard and this is a very different Aston Villa side. Considering the pressure on West Ham, Villa should really fancy themselves here.
