Wolves are preparing for the Championship, and despite improvements in performance under Rob Edwards, they will likely suffer a defeat against Chelsea at the weekend.
The home side is winless in their last three matches, with back-to-back defeats against Manchester City (2-0) and Bournemouth (0-2). However, in both of those defeats, Wolves were hardly outplayed by any context, as Rob Edwards' side registered double digits in shots and particularly against Bournmouth they produced 17 shots compared to the clinical Cherries (9). Wolves are now significantly weakened with the loss of Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace, but the likes of Mateus Mane, who averages 1.6 shots per game, can still be a threat at the weekend against Chelsea.
As for Chelsea, they will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing midweek effort against Arsenal, where they fell to a late defeat thanks to Kai Havertz. The Blues have lost only twice under Liam Rosenior since his arrival, with three consecutive league wins during his tenure. However, tactical decisions have already come under scrutiny, especially in the first half against West Ham United, when they found themselves 2-0 down. Chelsea had 70% of the ball in the first half but could only register 0.29xG, as the Irons were two goals up before the interval.
Chelsea have a good record against Wolves, as the Blues have won the last four meetings between the two sides. The BTTS market has also landed in five of the last six games between the two clubs, and we think this could be a recurring theme here.
Wolves 1-3 Chelsea
