ITV Racing Tips – Saturday 29th August 2026 Best Bets for Goodwood & Sandown

ITV will cover nine live races on Saturday, 29th August, with action coming from Goodwood and Sandown. The action will be headlined by the Group Two Celebration Mile at 15:10.

We have gone through all televised races on ITV, picking out ITV horse racing tips, and an accumulator for ITV racing.

ITV’s coverage kicks off with a Restricted Novice Stakes on Saturday, and Lily Pink should be primed to give a bold effort on her second start under rules. She was only narrowly denied on rules debut when beaten a neck by Zarakova.

The two drew well clear of the remaining runners in that race, and the Cracksman filly is set to make amends this weekend.

Juveniles are also in action in the opening race from Sandown this weekend, and experience could be a key factor in terms of Tall Trees ' chances.

The two-year-old is yet to win in four starts under rules, but she has run with credit on her last two efforts over seven furlongs, including when within two lengths of Aperoll over course and distance in July.

Could make her experience count in a field full of debutants.

In-form Andrew Balding will saddle Ghost Mode in the handicap over seven furlongs at Goodwood on Saturday.

The three-year-old made a striking impression over course and distance last time when beating Ironwill by over a length. Rob Hornby was aboard the selection for that win, and has now partnered with Ghost Mode for both of the horse’s wins over seven furlongs. Still looks well-treated.

Next up is a handicap over a mile and two from Sandown. My Love Is King is incredibly well-handicapped for the John & Thady Gosden team, with Robert Havlin booked aboard.

The three-year-old has run big races in defeat on two occasions, including a notable run on return this year when only beaten a neck by Maltese Cross at Newbury.

Was a gallant second behind Ancient Egypt in May, before running no race at Ascot when wearing first-time headgear. Expected to go well on these terms on handicap debut.

Tony Montana has dropped to an eye-catching mark, and looks set to make a positive impression this weekend on his third start for the Kevin Philippart De Foy yard.

The six-year-old wasn’t beaten far over a mile and two on his previous attempt at Goodwood, finishing within two lengths of Al Aali.

This step up in trip promises to suit this weekend, having previously shown plenty of stamina over course and distance in 2023 when fourth in a handicap off 2lb lower.

The first of the Group races this Saturday is the Group Three Atalanta Stakes. So Regal has a big race in her for the John & Thady Gosden team, and she has shown plenty so far this season.

She has won twice from three starts, and wasn’t beaten far by Lilt in The Michael Seely Memorial Fillies’ Stakes. She likely raced too freely in the opening stages of that race, and travelling strongly in the closing stages to cut the gap on the eventual winner to just over a length.

Expected to go well again for a yard in red-hot form.

Next up is the Group Two Celebration Mile Stakes from Goodwood.

Seagulls Eleven is an interesting contender against the favourite, having shown plenty of ability over course and distance when beating Diego Ventura by just under a length in the Group Three Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes last August.

Disappointed last time, but a bold showing is likely if replicating the level of form shown when winning the Group Three Diomed and finishing within a length of Zeus Olympios in the Group Two Summer Mile.

The Group Three Solario Stakes has attracted a high-quality field of juveniles, but few look to be as exciting at Rock Montreal for the Roger Varian yard.

The two-year-old was an excellent winner at York in mid-August, beating Mina by two lengths and pulling clear in the closing stages. Sire Blue Point was a winner at Group level as a juvenile, landing the Gimcrack Stakes.

ITV’s coverage concludes with a Maiden Fillies’ Stakes over a mile and two. Evening Call looks like the interesting contender for the William Haggas yard.

She finished last of three on debut at Newmarket earlier this month, but that looked an above-average contest. This step up in trip promises to suit the daughter of Wootton Bassett.
