3 in, 3 Out for Gameweek 6: City Attackers Out?

Latest News

In: Raphina

Hovering just above the relegation zone, it hasn’t been the start to the season Leeds United had wished for, with zero wins after five matches.

Having negotiated a tricky spell of fixtures, there does seem to be some light ahead for Marcelo Bielsa’s side and should Leeds experience an upturn in form, Raphinha will be crucial to their plans.

After racking up six goals and nine assists last campaign, the Brazilian has already scored twice this year, including the equaliser in their recent draw to Newcastle United and with the chances Bielsa’s men create per 90 minutes, we’re expecting the 24-year-old to add to his numbers in the coming weeks.

In: Adam Armstrong

Brought in to fill the boots of cult-hero Danny Ings, Adam Armstrong entered the season under a great deal of pressure and the former Blackburn Rovers man has responded well.

Tormenting a usually assured Manchester City defence in their valiant 0-0 draw last weekend, Armstrong probably should’ve been awarded a penalty following a tangle of legs with Blues’ defender Kyle Walker.

Armstrong has registered over three shots per game in his five Premier League appearances this season and with a crucial match against Wolves on the horizon, the 24-year-old will have a chance to double his goals tally for the season.

In: Harvey Barnes

One of many people’s preseason picks for success, Harvey Barnes has so far struggled to get going in the Premier League, but the promising English winger is showing signs of hitting form.

The unfortunate ‘offside’ culprit in Leicester City’s two disallowed goals against Brighton & Hove Albion during gameweek 5, Barnes will enter their winnable fixtures against Burnley and Crystal Palace with a point to prove.

Barnes’ ownership percentage plummeted after the international break, but now could be the time to get the 23-year-old back into your side.

Out: Matty Cash

Registering his best-ever week in fantasy football last weekend, Matty Cash’s goal and clean sheet in their convincing 3-0 win against Everton have had many people looking to bring the full-back into their teams.

Whilst he is no doubt a shrewd defensive pick, managers might want to withdraw Cash before they are left short-changed.

Villa faces a difficult double against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in their next two fixtures, making the chances of another bumper-points return an unlikely prospect, at least for now.

Out: Ruben Dias

Less than one year since he made his debut, Ruben Dias’ introduction to the City defence has worked untold wonders, leading to the Portuguese international winning the Premier League Player of the Season for the 2020/21 campaign.

There is no doubting his quality, but with an unquestionably tough run of fixtures on the horizon for Pep Guardiola’s side, it may be worth side-lining Dias for a couple of weeks.

It’s nearly four years since City last kept a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge, making this weekend’s visit to west London a potential headache for those managers with Dias in their teams, whilst a trip to Anfield awaits after that.

Out: Bryan Mbeumo

Beaten just once in their first five matches as a Premier League side, Brentford have enjoyed a bright start to life in the top-flight so far, but a storm looks like it could be about to hit the side from west London.

A torrid run of fixtures lies ahead for Thomas Frank’s side, with matches against Liverpool, West Ham United and Chelsea up next for the Bees.

Bryan Mbeumo has been a popular pick alongside attacking partner Ivan Toney so far, yet the Frenchman may have to wait a little while before getting back amongst the points.
