6 Tips for Saturday’s Euro 2020 Action – 19/6/21

Latest News

Hungary vs France Tips

Saturday sees action resume in Group F, as Hungary face the impossible against France on matchday two.

The Magyars come into this match on the back of a 3-0 thumping at the hands of Portugal, having conceded three times in the last 10 minutes of the game to Raphaël Guerreiro and a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo, whilst France beat Germany 1-0 via a first-half own goal from Mats Hummels who sliced in a left-wing cross from Theo Hernandez.

France to Win & Over 2.5 Goals – 1/1

Prior to France’s 1-0 victory over Germany, they had won their last two matches against both Wales and Bulgaria via 3-0 scorelines with Olivier Giroud scoring a brace in the latter, whilst Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann also managed to get on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Hungary showed against a Portugal side that wasn’t particularly creative, having only had 11 shots in 90 minutes with 70% possession of the ball, that once one goal goes in, that they are very susceptible to conceding more as they have to open up out of their defensive shape.

Kylian Mbappe to Score Anytime – 5/4

22-year-old PSG forward Kylian Mbappe is priced at 5/4 to score anytime for France against Hungary. In Ligue 1 this season the former AS Monaco striker managed 27 goals in 31 appearances and has a decent record for France, finding the back of the net 17 times in 43 appearances, most recently doing so against Wales.

Portugal vs Germany Tips

Portugal take on Germany on Saturday in Group F’s other clash. As mentioned above, the Portuguese come into this game off the back of a late show against Hungary, whilst Germany are in a desperate situation where they must at minimum avoid defeat as they’ll likely qualify as one of the best third-placed teams if they beat Hungary, although a win would likely see them qualify ahead of their opponents.

Portugal to Win & BTTS – 11/2

The Betting Hub App has BTTS rated at a 50% possibility for this match, with both teams averaging a combined three goals scored per game.

Portugal have won three of their last four games including their victory on matchday one against Hungary, having also beaten Israel 4-0 and Luxembourg 3-1. Meanwhile, Germany scored their lost four matches prior to their 1-0 loss to France, beating Latvia and Romania 7-1 and 1-0, as well as drawing 1-1 with Denmark and losing 2-1 to North Macedonia.

Cristiano Ronaldo to Score First – 16/5

Ronaldo’s two goals against Hungary means that he is now the all-time top scorer at the European Championships with 11 goals, moving the 36-year-old two clear of Michel Platini. The Juventus striker has scored 106 times for his country, meaning he is now three off the all-time international goals record of Ali Daei of Iran and comes into this match in good form, having scored four in his last four games for Portugal.

Spain vs Poland Tips

The final game of the day on Saturday sees an under-fire Spain side take on Poland who are also in a desperate position themselves.

Spain laboured to a 0-0 draw against Sweden on matchday one, despite having 85% possession, whilst Poland lost 2-1 at the hands of Slovakia following an own goal by Wojciech Szczęsny and a powerful strike from Milan Skriniar, this match also saw former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak be dismissed in the second-half for two yellow cards.

Spain to Win & BTTS – 9/4

Spain come into this match as the favourites to win the game due to the overall quality of their squad and prior to their last match, they had beaten Lithuania 4-0, Kosovo 3-1 and Georgia 2-1. Whilst Poland have won just one of their last five matches against Andorra 3-0 and have since lost 2-1 to Slovakia and England, as well as drawing 1-1 and 2-2 with Russia and Iceland.

These results show why the Betting Hub has calculated there being a 60% chance of BTTS coming off, as Poland have scored in their last five, but, their leaky defence can’t stop conceding goals, something which Spain will be looking to capitalise on in the match.

BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals – 13/8

As stated above, there is a 60% chance of the BTTS market landing in this match, as well as there being a 70% chance of over 2.5 goals being scored, as this has happened in all of Spain’s last three victories, as well as four of Poland’s five matches, meaning that the odds of 13/8 for BTTS and over 2.5 goals to be scored is more than fair.
