Football Bet Winners From Our Social Media Followers

It was yet another weekend of shocks, twists and drama in the world of football, with each team fighting to show their quality in all of Europe's top football leagues. Manchester City thumped Cardiff City away from home to show their hopes of another Premier League title, West Ham United slowed the momentum of Chelsea with a goalless draw at the London Stadium, and Manchester United were held to a draw at home to newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers in another stumbling block for Jose Mourinho.

As much as we're lapping up all of the controversy which regularly comes from the Premier League, we're most interested in how our followers did with their bets over the weekend. This is why we ask how they've done over the weekend and why we've compiled all of last weekend's winners into this blog! Feel free to send in any winners of your own to us on Twitter at @FootyAccums, and you could even be mentioned in next week's Bets Of The Week!

Saturday Afternoon Accas

As we'll freely admit, the football accumulator is the most popular form of bet, and it's something that a lot of people have got involved with this weekend. We were sent a six fold acca from @gunner-nutters who clearly knew exactly which teams he fancies, returning nearly £700 from a fiver.

It was possible for @derek_mcrobert to land their bet by keeping tabs on SkyBet's cash out feature, where they secured £752.41 in winnings from a bet that could have potentially won them nearly £2,000! That being said, it's always best to only gamble what you're willing to lose and this punter obviously was happy with the £752.41 that he gained from wins for Sheffield United, Accrington Stanley, Peterborough United, Exeter City, Port Vale, and a sixth selection which we weren't able to see.

Coming as the most outrageous winning football accumulator that we've seen this weekend, @hartnup_daniel sent in a six-fold that returned a whopping £1,374.55. We always promote responsible gambling and would never endorse using such a large stake for any bet, even one we felt pretty certain about, but the £100 stake used for this bet ended up going in the punter's favour. He backed Manchester City at 1/7, Liverpool at 2/11, Nottingham Forest at 8/13, Peterborough at 11/10 and Atletico Madrid at 4/5, taking odds of just under 13/1.

Special Markets

For those who couldn't wait to sink their teeth into the weekend's football action, this punter made the most of the early kick-off between Fulham and Watford. Two players to score and two players to be carded is harder to predict than you might realise but @Gary_Roberts99 was absolutely spot on with predicting goals for Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andre Gray, as well as cards for Jose Holebas and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

It was heartwarming to see this punter looking over-the-moon by this little win. While it's only ever worth betting if you've set your own limits and have an idea in mind of your maximum stake, this punter was extra shrewd with his £2.75 returns for a £1.00 bet. If nothing else, it's definitely a way of increasing your stake for another bet you might be tempted to make. Either that, or maybe this punter was just happy to make a small bet with a strong chance of it landing in his favour.

Sunday Bets

With a view on French games, @macbrogan8 was able to capitalise with three Full Time Result & Both Teams To Score selections. This included straightforward away wins for Paris Saint Germain at Rennes and Bordeaux at Guingamp, with it all going down to a fierce battle between Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique Marseille. The half-time score had it all square, with @macbrogan8 asking our followers for advice on whether or not to cash out, but it being the best thing for him to stick with his bet, as Lyon went on to win 4-2.

AND FINALY...

This whopping twenty-fold footy accumulator was only staked at a pound but could have rewarded @aidenageee with almost £150! After witnessing wins from the other nineteen teams, it came down to Barcelona in their meeting with Girona. Barcelona are easily one of the most reliable teams to bet on through their attacking prowess from Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho and several others but this punter was correct with cashing out early, as the 1/10 shot was ruined by Barca's sending off, prompting an eventual 2-2 draw at Camp Nou.
