Cheltenham Festival
The 2026 Cheltenham Festival draws to a close on Friday, with the Gold Cup headlining the card.
All attention will be on the Blue Riband event on the National Hunt calendar- the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Inothewayurthinkin will be bidding to retain the crown, but progressive contenders such as The Jukebox Man, Gaelic Warrior, and Jango Baie all have strong chances on their first starts in the race.
Chelsea vs Newcastle
A crucial weekend of Premier League action is also set for Saturday and Sunday, beginning at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea host Newcastle. The Blues will be aiming to bounce back after a heavy loss in the Champions League at the hands of PSG in midweek.
However, a home win for Liam Rosenior’s side will take them into the top three. Newcastle will be hoping to rediscover their consistency after losing two of their last three in the league, but the Magpies have won just one of their last 12 trips to Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal vs Everton
All eyes will be back on the Premier League title race on Saturday, as Arsenal could move ten points clear at the summit when Mikel Arteta’s side host Everton. The Gunners have avoided defeat in their last six against the Toffees, while Everton have won just one of their last 29 on the road against Arsenal.
However, David Moyes has steered his team to a solid record on the road, with only the Gunners winning more than Everton’s seven games on the road in 2025-26. Despite that upturn in form, the Toffees will still be huge outsiders to cause an upset at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
West Ham vs Manchester City
A pivotal clash at both ends of the Premier League standings is set for the London Stadium on Saturday, as title-chasing Manchester City travel to relegation-threatened West Ham. A shock win for the hosts would take them out of the bottom three, and confidence can be gained from their recent form after losing just once in their last five.
Pep Guardiola will have questions to answer this weekend following a heavy 3-0 loss over Real Madrid in midweek. But, the reigning champions have avoided defeat in their last 20 against the Hammers, winning on 17 occasions across that period.
