Friday Night Live returns on ITV this week, with Wolverhampton playing host to a competitive seven-race card.

ITV’s coverage of Friday Night Live from Wolverhampton kicks off with a handicap over a mile and four furlongs.

John Galt could be leniently handicapped based on his strong effort when fourth at Kempton at the start of the year. Returned from a short break at the same track last time, but was too keen in the opening exchanges.

Was a winner over course and distance last month, before running a strong race in defeat over seven furlongs behind Profit Street at Lingfield.

Olivia Tubbs takes off an important 5lb, and based on his recent runs, he is likely to go close.

The red-hot George Boughey stable is represented by Unassuming in the 19:00 at Wolves on Friday.

Billy Loughnane is back aboard. The six-year-old ran a strong race in defeat over course and distance in December, finishing third behind Parlando.

Has failed to show that level of form since, but is on an eye-catching mark at a track where he typically excels.

Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy combine with Spanish Voice in the 19:30 on Friday.

The four-year-old made a slow start on his latest start, costing him important distance on the field. However, he still remains of huge interest after previously winning over a mile and two at Lingfield on his return following a 102-day break.

Handles the all-weather, and a return to form will make him hard to beat.

Clive Cox-trained The Dragon King could be an interesting contender on his second start following a break.

The four-year-old returned to action when narrowly beaten at Newcastle by Benacre last month. Has previous winning form over course and distance, beating United Approach back in November.

Selection is yet to finish outside of the first two with Hector Crouch aboard.

Grant Wood could prove too well-handicapped in the finale from Wolves on Friday night.

The seven-year-old has impressively won on his last two starts over six furlongs, including when besting Ziggy’s Condor at Newcastle last week.

The selection is effectively 5lb well-in after that effort, and this gives him a golden opportunity to take advantage.
