Alan Pardew

Next AFC Wimbledon Manager Odds

AFC Wimbledon are on the lookout for a new manager following the sacking of Mark Robinson after the Dons went on a run of 20 games without a win that has seen the Plough Lane club tumble down into the relegation zone.

Robinson managed the club 68 times, winning just 17 of his matches in charge, with his departure ending an 18-year spell at the club.

Alan Pardew Odds: 4/1

Former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has emerged as a shock early favourite for the role at his hometown club.

At present, the 60-year-old works for Bulgarian outfit CSKA Sofia as an advisor to the owners on footballing matters, with his last managerial role being at ADO Den Hag in the Netherlands between 2019-2020 where he managed to win just one of his eight games in charge.

Pardew has not managed in England since being West Brom manager in the 2017/18 season where he left after winning three of 21 matches, with his most recent successful Premier League spell being with Crystal Palace between January 2015 and December 2016 when he famously took the Eagles to the FA Cup final.

Pardew is priced at 4/1 to join his hometown club.

Darren Ferguson Odds: 7/1

Former Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson is also on this list of potential candidates for the vacancy at Plough Lane.

The 50-year-old Glaswegian manager resigned at London Road following a run of dismal results that had left Peterborough firmly in the relegation zone.

Ferguson is an experienced manager at League One level, as he has earned two promotions from League One with Posh in 2008/09 and 2020/21, as well as managing two from League Two with both Peterborough and Doncaster Rovers in 2008 and 2017, showing that he has good pedigree towards the lower end of the Football League.

AFC Wimbledon are priced at 7/1 to appoint Darren Ferguson.

Luke Garrard Odds: 9/1

Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard is also on this list of those that have been linked to the job at Plough Lane.

Garrard is actually a former AFC Wimbledon player having joined back in 2006, playing for the Dons for four years, making a total of 98 league appearances before leaving for Boreham Wood.

The 36-year-old has been manager of the Meadow Park club since October 2015, taking over as manager from Ian Allinson, making him the youngest boss in England’s top five divisions at the time. The former Boreham Wood player has provided the club with a stable platform, as they have finished as high as fourth and fifth in the National League table and are currently fighting for a play-off place.

Garrard is priced at 9/1 to join his former club.

Ian Holloway Odds: 12/1

The final manager on this list is former Blackpool and QPR manager Ian Holloway.

Holloway is known for being an enthusiastic manager who has earned sides shock promotions, as the 58-year-old has led the likes of Blackpool to the Premier League in the 2009/10 season, as well as Crystal Palace via the play-offs in 2013, of which the Eagles have remained in England’s top-flight since.

‘Ollie’s’ last job was at Grimsby Town in League Two between 2019 and 2020 where he was blamed by many at the club for their relegation, so he may be looking to prove people wrong by improving his reputation in the game once again.

Holloway is priced at 12/1 to be appointed as Wimbledon’s next permanent manager.
