Akhmat Grozny host Spartak Moscow on Sunday in what is the final game of the season in the Russian Premier League.

As it stands, Grozny won’t be worrying either end of the table as they are mathematically safe from relegation in 10th, whilst Spartak have all but confirmed second place in the league standings, as they are three points ahead of Lokomotiv Moscow with a 10 better goal difference.

Akhmat have been involved in three games from their last five where both teams have scored, in two 3-1 wins against Khimki and Tambov, as well as a 1-1 draw away at Ural late last month.

Whilst Spartak have won their last two games via 2-1 scorelines against Arsenal Tula and Khimki, with strike pairing Alexander Sobolev and Jordan Larsson scoring in both games. The latter who is the son of former Celtic and Barcelona star Henrik Larsson is Spartak’s top scorer with 15 goals in 28 league games.

The last two times that Spartak have travelled to Akhmat, they have come out as 3-1 victors, an outcome which we will be hoping to see happen once again on Sunday.

The final game on this list comes from Ligue 1, where fourth-placed Lyon will need to earn themselves a vital win if they are to stand any chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, whilst a defeat for Nimes would likely see the hosts relegated from the top flight.

Nimes are three points adrift of 17th in the table Lorient and have won just one of their last five matches, which came in a 3-0 victory over Metz, thanks to second-half goals from Lamine Fomba, Renaud Ripart and Zinedine Ferhat. Both teams managed to score in their previous four fixtures prior to their win at Metz, as they lost 2-1 to Lens, as well as drawing 2-2 with Reims, 1-1 with Strasbourg and 1-1 with Brest.

Lyon are just one point behind third-placed AS Monaco with two matches remaining. They have been involved in plenty of eventful games of late as both teams have scored in four of Lyon’s last five matches, with three of them being wins against Lorient, Monaco and Nantes by 4-1, 3-2 and 2-1 scorelines.

Lyon are the second top scorers in Ligue 1 with 74 goals to their name and have conceded 41 in 36 matches, showing that they are susceptible defensively in matches so this is something that Nimes will look to exploit.
