Matchday 35: Five Goalscorer Bets to Watch This Weekend

Latest News

Almiron to score against Watford

Miguel Almiron has finally hit some form in Newcastle United colours after going a half the season without registering an assist or a goal when initially signing from Atlanta United in January 2019.

The Paraguayan is the club's top scorer as Steve Bruce's men look to continue this decent form which has seen them lose just once in the five games since the restart. In fact, Newcastle are unbeaten in the league since losing to Crystal Palace back in February and now sit comfortably in mid-table.

As for Almiron, his eight goals thus far is double that of record signing Joelinton, and he has also managed to bag twice post-hiatus. To score against Watford is now pretty likely in his form, as Watford continue to fight the drop and are yet to keep a clean sheet since action continued.

Almiron is 14/1 last or first and priced at 11/2 to bag anytime.

Giroud to score against Sheffield United

Oliver Giroud's goalscoring abilities simply can't be doubted. The Frenchman has popped up when it really mattered for both Arsenal, Chelsea and even France, where Thierry Henry and Michel Platini are the only men to outscore him.

The striker has five goals in 14 Premier League appearances for the Blues this season and remains a constant goal threat in each fixture. Giroud scored the opener against Crystal Palace in midweek and the first goal against Watford just four days earlier.

Ahead of Chelsea's clash with Sheffield United, the ex-Arsenal man is 13/8 but heading for him to be the first or last goalscorer at 4/1 is not such a bad shout in his current form.

Mahrez to score against Brighton

Manchester City have been topsy-turvy since action resumed. When it looked as if the club would become a ruthless, free-scoring side in front of no fans, a loss to Chelsea and shock defeat to Southampton has followed.

Pep Guardiola's men are still the heavy favourites to beat a Brighton & hove Albion side battling the drop, but goals haven't been that easy at times.

One player who has looked a threat throughout is Riyad Mahrez, who has is enjoying another stellar season with 11 goals and 12 assists. And now, with Leroy Sane gone, the winger is set to become more of a permanent member in the City starting XI.

Mahrez is priced at 13/8 to score anytime against the Seagulls, just as he did last year. The Algerian also has a tempting price of 9/2 to be the first or last goalscorer.

Kane to score against Arsenal

Harry Kane, along with Emmanuel Adebayor Bobby Smith, is the all-time top scorer in north London derbies and another goal against Arsenal will put him into his own category.

The England captain has netted twice since the restart and in 2020, due to injury, Kane has only played five times. Now, with a goal against West Ham United and Sheffield United, it seems as if the Spurs superstar could get back among the goals on a consistent basis.

Both north London sides have been shaky at the back since action continued in June and a goal from the joint top scorer in this derby makes complete sense in this moment.

Kane is priced at a solid 13/10 to bag anytime and also sits with odds of 7/2 to score first or last.

Jimenez to score against Everton

Raul Jimenez is once again Wolverhampton Wanderers' top scorer this season with 18 goals n a time where the club is edging towards a potential Champions League spot.

At 11/8 to score anytime and 16/5 to bag first or last, is a great price for a man who is such a threat and who boasts a goal every 189 minutes for Wolves this season.

Up against Jimenez and co. is Everton who have drastically improved under Carlo Ancelotti, especially in the defensive department. However, Wolves have lost just once in the four games since the restart, winning the other three.

The Mexican is always in with a solid chance of scoring and at 11/8 anytime is worth a go.
