Manchester United Odds: 2/1

With the impending announcement of Erik ten Hag as the long-term successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he will no doubt be looking to impose a complete re-build of the current squad, and where better to start than an impressive young striker who has been attracting the eyes of most of Europe’s elite with his goalscoring form in Portugal and the Champions League.

The Uruguayan has netted 32 times in just 37 appearances across all competitions this season and at just 22 years of age, ten Hag will no doubt be interested in him if fellow Uruguayan, Cavani, and Frenchman Anthony Martial are to leave this summer.

Liverpool Odds: 3/1

Alternatively, the successes of arch-rivals Liverpool has seen them become one of the most desirable clubs in the world to play for. Under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds have transformed as a team and with very few underwhelming signings, any player that comes into the team usually adapts relatively quickly and has no problem playing in an extremely effective system.

While goalscoring has never been a problem for Liverpool under Klopp, the Reds have often relied on the goalscoring form of wide players and have sometimes found the lack of a commanding centre forward has been the difference against the superior defences of the likes of Real and Atletico Madrid, among others.

Nunez would no doubt benefit from the creative abilities of Klopp’s system, and especially the passing range of full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson. At almost 6ft2, his ariel dominance will be perfect for the onslaught of crosses Liverpool sends into the opposition box each game.

Nunez is priced at 3/1 to join Liverpool.

Real Madrid Odds: 7/1

With possibly the greatest pulling power in world football right now, Real Madrid will have little problem prying the Uruguayan away from Lisbon if they want him.

Real’s star striker Benzema has been on fire this season, his goalscoring and creativity has shone in the league and in Europe and as a result, he’s been heavily tipped for the Ballon d'Or come the end of the year. However, at 33-years of age, he is not getting any younger and Madrid will be looking for a successor in the near future.

They are also linked with French starlet Kylian Mbappe from PSG as well as Erling Haaland from Dortmund, however the former is just as effective on the wing and the latter looks set to sign for the blue side of Manchester, Real Madrid would have no quarrels finding the funding for a fresh and young front line to spearhead the next generation of Madridistas.

Real are priced at 7/1 to acquire Nunez in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal Odds: 9/1

Following the sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona in January, combined with the contracts of current strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah coming to an end in July, Arsenal will be looking for at least two new strikers in the summer window.

Despite their recent collapse in form and the subsequent dent this has taken in their champions league hopes, if the gunners are to make the competition next season, the signing of Nunez will go a long way to ensuring they at least make it out of the group stages (wishful thinking at this stage).

At only 22 he will be another young star to fit into an already young and progressive team, despite their recent form there has been clear improvements to the Gunners this year and signing another young player to grow and develop as the team does, will no doubt be a positive step towards bringing glory back to North London.

Nunez is priced at 9/1 to sign for the Gunners.

Barcelona Odds: 9/1

Similar to Arsenal, under a progressive and attacking young manager, Barcelona will be a very appealing opportunity for any young striker looking to impress in a bigger league.

Barcelona’s young team have been transformed under Xavi’s management, playing attractive possession-based football and through starlets Pedri and Gavi, they create a great number of chances for forwards Aubameyang and Ferran Torres.

Nunez will be well aware of Aubameyang’s career revitalisation since his transfer to Barcelona, and given he will be 33 come the start of next season, Nunez will certainly look favourably at the chance to take on his role as the main striker for the Catalan giants in the future.

Much like Real Madrid, the Barcelona pull is unprecedented, and, despite form, most players would jump at the chance to wear the famous blue and garnet colours of the Nou Camp club.

Barcelona are at the odds of 9/1 to sign Nunez from Benfica.

Newcastle United Odds: 9/1

It’s the beginning of a new age for Newcastle and its faithful fans. As everyone will know, their recent financial takeover has left them as far and away the richest club in the world in terms of owner’s wealth.

Many fans will be expecting the Magpies to jump straight into the transfer market in an attempt to re-build the current relegation scrapping team for a super-team that will soon be challenging for domestic and potentially international titles in the not too distant future.

Where better to start than a young striker who is already an established goal-scorer in Europe.

Nunez’s record will no doubt excite many Newcastle fans who would love to see the Uruguayan spearheading the attack at St James’ Park, it will also set a precedent in Europe, showing that despite interest from most of the continent’s elite, they have the pull and ambition to sign players for their exciting project.

Nunez is priced at 9/1 to make the switch from Benfica to Newcastle.
