Memphis Depay Transfer News & Odds

Memphis Depay looks as though he could be on his way out of Barcelona due to their ongoing financial issues that have put the registration of their new signings in doubt.

Reports have recently mentioned that there is a possibility of Depay’s contract being terminated, which at the age of 28, would make the Dutchman an attractive proposition for any club due to his reputation of being a high-quality player.

Borussia Dortmund 9/1
Manchester United 9/1

Juventus Odds: 2/1

Juventus are reportedly interested in taking Depay to the Juventus Stadium, having already signed two ex-Manchester United players on free transfers this summer in Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria.

Having failed to agree on a deal for Alvaro Morata with Atletico Madrid, they may have had a fortunate break, as Depay is on paper a better signing than the Spaniard, whilst also being able to add to their weak left-wing options.

At present, Juve’s only left-wingers is former Croatia international Marko Pjaca and Filip Kostic - meaning that this signing would be more than ideal due to Depay’s versatility, as he can also play up-front.

Tottenham Hotspur Odds: 5/1

Tottenham are also rumoured to be in the race for Depay, as manager Antonio Conte looks to add strength in depth to the squad that he is moulding at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

If Spurs are to sign Depay, it would possibly push Son over to the right-wing, whilst offering extra cover across their front-line with talented players such as Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison joining their squad this summer, as the Swede was initially on loan from Juve.

The addition of Depay would arguably strengthen the case that Spurs have one of, if not the best front three in the division and would offer depth which they have badly lacked in recent years.

Spurs are priced at 5/1 to sign Depay this summer.

Chelsea Odds: 6/1

Chelsea are also reportedly interested in Depay, as Thomas Tuchel’s side looks desperately in need of a goalscoring striker.

So far this summer, Chelsea have let go of both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, with both of them returning to their old clubs in Inter Milan and RB Leipzig, however, they are yet to sign a player to fill this void, instead, utilising Armando Broja who spent last season on loan at Southampton.

With the striker market being incredibly limited following Liverpool's and Manchester City’s moves for Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland, a deal for Depay would be good on paper.

Chelsea are priced at 6/1 to acquire Depay in the current transfer market.

Borussia Dortmund Odds: 9/1

Borussia Dortmund have been linked with Depay, as they look for ways to end Bayern Munich’s ten-year domination of the Bundesliga.

Sebastian Kehl and Dortmund recently turned to Anthony Modeste to replace Sebastien Haller in the short term, but, with Marco Reus being 33 years old and notoriously having a few injury issues in recent years, perhaps a move for Depay could take away some of the reliance on their talismanic figure.

Dortmund are priced at 9/1 to sign the Dutchman this summer.

Manchester United Odds: 9/1

The final team on this list is one of Depay’s former clubs in the shape of Manchester United.

Depay may feel as though he has unfinished business at Old Trafford having not hit the heights he would have hoped for between 2015 and 2017 - despite of this, he still has a good relationship with fans of the club.

What is also obvious, is United’s need for a new striker, as Cristiano Ronaldo has frequently touted his name for a move away, whilst Anthony Martial was looking to leave the club last season.

Depay is priced at 9/1 to make a sensational return to Old Trafford.
